Having been born in a family renowned for its passion and achievements in various forms of performing arts, Aparna had an early introduction to Indian (Hindusthani) Classical music.
Her first Guru, late Pandit Bhaskarbua Joshi was a direct disciple of the late Pandit Ramkrishnabua Vaze, who was a well-known and leading singer from the Gwalior gharana.
Aparna is currently training under her mother, Smt. Meera Panshikar who is a direct disciple of Padma Vibhushan Ganasaraswati Smt. Kishori Amonkar.

Fusion collaboration with South Korean artists – ‘Wind from Ayutta’ ‘Diamond Sutra’ and ‘Punyapur ki sarita’. These albums were released in South Korea and one of these album won the award as the Best Release of the year

Aparna Panshikar recieved the prestigious ‘Rasikagarni Dattopant Deshpande Award‘ at the hands of BharatRatna Late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.
She has also recieved the ‘Yuva Gayak puraskar‘ awarded by Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.
